Tears on the Front Lawn
On Sunday, SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) started planting red and white flags on the front lawn to symbolize the extent of the loss of life in the Iraq War. White for Iraqi deaths, red for Americans.
Classes this week are delaying the progress, but as of today, the white (and speckled red)mass of fluttering death (as one student referred to it) is still spreading like a long-armed cancer across the front lawn.
And there are still bundles of white flags yet to go.
Here is a story: Tears on the Front Lawn from one of the students who was planting flags.
And pictures from Sunday.
